Due to an overwhelming response, we reached tournament capacity and sold out in 18 hours! Registration opened Sunday, January 15, and was at 90% capacity around 3 PM that day, with many incomplete teams. We quickly closed our registration process to assess the data coming through. Over the past week, our tournament committee has been hard at work examing all our options. This includes looking over the incomplete team data, bowling center capacity, and hotel banquet/room space.
We are happy to announce that our 40th Anniversary Dogwood Invitational Bowling will expand the tournament schedule to two shifts. Shift A will bowl Singles Friday night and Doubles/Team Saturday morning/afternoon. Shift B will bowl Doubles/Team Friday afternoon and Singles Saturday early evening.
Because we initially planned for a single shift, we did not ask for shift preference on the online registration entry form. The original shift timing was scrapped for a new schedule. You can view our revised Tournament schedule in detail on our tournament home page.
For those that registered already, you will be sent an email at some point in the coming week from our Tournament Secretary. (Please monitor your spam folders.) In that email, we will ask you to submit a Shift Preference request. Please have one (1) person from your team submit your team’s shift preference to avoid duplicates and complicate the prioritization process. Emails will be sent to the individual that submitted your team’s online entry.
Shift Preference priority will be based on a number of factors: prepaid entries; free entries; those who registered successfully Sunday, January 15; incomplete teams; waitlist requests; and finally, new entries submitted when registration goes live a second time.
We will wait a short period of time to collect shift preference requests for those already registered. Registration has opened back up. Incomplete teams can submit bowlers missing from their rosters. We will accept new bowlers to register as well. We know many of you need to make travel plans. Our expanded tournament capacity is now 288 bowlers (2 shifts of 144). When we fill up, we will close registration once again. Dogwood will NOT expand to three shifts.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this schedule pivot. Our committee is thrilled by the overwhelming response and positive feedback we have received across the country. Many past Dixie/Dogwood bowlers want to come back to Atlanta and celebrate our 40th-anniversary tournament. We are super excited to expand our schedule and celebrate with more of you!
