Dogwood’s VIRTUAL Mini-Tournament, Dark Horse Doubles is open for registration – scroll to bottom of page to register!
$5 per entry, unlimited entries-totally virtual! Your first 3 games you bowl in regular league beginning Sunday 10/18 count! (The tournament runs for 2 weeks, so it is okay if you miss this first week, we’ll take the second! It’s the first 3 games you BOWL, We’ll grab scores and keep track of everything!)
You’ll be randomly assigned a ‘dark horse’ doubles partner for every $5 entry, your combined handicap scores will determine the winners!

Tournament Rules:

  1. The (virtual) tournament is open to any USBC/CTF-sanctioned bowler.
  2. The tournament dates shall be Sunday October 18, 2026 through Saturday October 31, 2026.
  3. Dogwood must receive payment of the entry fee prior to the start of bowling.
  4. Bowlers who bowl in more than one league must confirm the league used for scores (but are welcome to enter additional separate entries with another league clearly listed)

Bowler Rules:

  1. First three games shall be used from league Sunday October 18, 2026 through Saturday October 31, 2026.  (Dogwood will add in the handicap.)
  2. Blind scores will not count, only games bowled. New: you will have two weeks for your scores to count in case you are not scheduled to bowl the first week.
  3. Handicap calculation: 90% of 240, by (1) average from 2026 registered fall league as of 10/17/26, min. 9 games. If one does not exist, then (2) highest book average from 2025-26 fall/winter league, min. 21 games. If one doesn't exist, then (3) highest book average from 2024-25 fall/winter league, min. 21 games. If one doesn't exist, then (4) highest book average from 2026 summer league, min. 21 games.
  4. Handicap will be calculated as 90% of the difference between 240 and the bowler’s entering average. No negative handicaps shall apply.
  5. For leagues that bowl more than a three-game series, only the first three games per night shall count toward tournament entry.
  6. The Dogwood Stats Chair shall verify all the scratch scores for each game.

Winner will be the highest 3 game total of bowler plus their handicap ADDED TO the score.

The payout ratio shall be 1 for every 8 entries.
